THE NEW DBN REGARDING FACADE THERMAL INSULATION CAME INTO FORCE

STOLIT already wrote in September about the new DBN V. 2.6-33:2018 “Constructions of external walls with facade thermal insulation. Design requirements”. DBN was approved by Order of the Ministry of Regions dated August 2, 2018 No. 199.

From December 1, 2018, the updated state building regulations on thermal insulation of facades have already entered into force and provide for the implementation of European requirements for the energy modernization of facades.

It is expected that the insulation of facades according to the new standards will save up to 15% of heat and increase the service life of buildings by almost 20 years.

So, depending on the design solution, prefabricated systems with processing are used:

– plasters or small artificial elements;

– industrial elements, small tiles or wall products;

– translucent layers and elements.

In the appendices to the new DBN, the structural diagrams of prefabricated systems are given.

In particular, the structural scheme of the prefabricated system with thin-layer plaster treatment (from 2 to 3 mm): the load-bearing part of the wall, the leveling plaster layer, the adhesive layer, the thermal insulation layer, the mechanical fastening element (dowel), the reinforcing glass mesh and the protective coating.

Constructions with facade thermal insulation must also meet the requirements of fire safety of construction objects (DBN V. 1.1-7) and energy efficiency requirements (DBN B. 2.6-31).

When designing a prefabricated insulation system, the capacity of load-bearing structures, heat-technical indicators and thermal-humidity conditions are calculated.

Prefabricated systems should provide isolation of air noise and not create noise effects.

Structural solutions of ebbs, parapets, windows and doors should ensure the prevention of moisture ingress into the heat-insulating layer.

The service life of the supporting structures of thermal insulation systems should be at least 30 years for objects with the corresponding classes of consequences.

Before starting the installation work, the surface is inspected for damage, unevenness, pollution and vertical deviations.

The surface must be prepared for the start of work (cleaned of plaster and paint), and the outside of the building must be equipped with a net or film to protect against objects falling on people.

Installation works are performed according to the project and in accordance with building regulations.

When installing the heat-insulating layer, it is necessary to ensure a close fit of the plates to each other, to the wall and to the elements of the supporting frame. The total area of air-permeable gaps should exceed 3% of the surface area of the facade.

After completion of works, the prefabricated system is subject to acceptance tests.
